Depenbrock Scandinavia will deliver a new hydraulic Ro-Ro ramp facility to R\u00f8nne Harbour.<\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

At the end of March 2026, Depenbrock Scandinavia entered into a contract with R\u00f8nne Harbour for the delivery of a new hydraulic Ro-Ro ramp facility.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The ramp facility will be installed at Ferry Berth 3, which serves as R\u00f8nne Havn\u2019s primary berth for freight transport to and from Bornholm, and will replace the existing ramp facility, which is approximately 50 years old.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The project, which will be delivered as a full turnkey contract, includes all design and engineering activities, demolition and disposal of the existing ramp and flap pit, construction of a new pile-founded and sheet-pile enclosed flap pit, installation of a new berthing fender system, fabrication, installation and commissioning of a new steel Ro-Ro ramp, as well as complete hydraulic, control and safety systems.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Prior to the contract award, Depenbrock Scandinavia, in collaboration with R\u00f8nne Havn, the ferry operator Bornholmslinjen and others, carried out detailed drone surveys of the Berth 3 area, followed by extensive simulations of berthing situations involving various ferry and vessel types.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The ramp facility is designed for heavy-load vehicles and, with a width of 26 m, a length of 20 m and a steel weight of approximately 220 tonnes, will become one of the largest Ro-Ro ramps in Denmark. The ramp is also designed with an extended operational range to accommodate future expectations regarding increased water level variations and calls from different vessel types. In addition to Bornholmslinjen\u2019s current ferries, this includes a range of anticipated future ferry classes as well as special-purpose vessels with varying deck heights and freeboard conditions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The new ramp facility will therefore provide a significant improvement to the port\u2019s Ro-Ro capabilities and capacity, which \u2014 due to the importance of Berth 3 for freight transport to and from Bornholm \u2014 is categorized as critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The new ramp facility is scheduled for handover and commercial commissioning on 15 March 2027.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

From Depenbrock Scandinavia\u2019s perspective, we are both pleased and satisfied \u2014 and, in all modesty, also somewhat proud \u2014 that R\u00f8nne Harbour has entrusted us with the delivery of the new ramp facility. This allows us to continue a close and constructive collaboration spanning more than 25 years, comprising more than 10 major ferry berth projects of various types. Most recently, this includes the emergency berth project at Quay 27\/28, for which we were awarded the contract approximately two months ago.<\/p>\n
