On September 10, Depenbrock Scandinavia signed a contract with the Port of Esbjerg for the delivery of a new hydraulic Ro-Ro ramp system.
The project, which will be delivered as a turnkey contract, includes not only the design and engineering activities, but also the fabrication, installation, and commissioning, along with complete hydraulic, control, and safety systems.
The ramp, designed for heavy-load traffic, will be 30 meters wide, 24 meters long, and weigh approximately 300 tons of steel, making it the largest of its kind in Denmark.
It is also being designed with an extended operating range to accommodate the tidal variations in the Port of Esbjerg, as well as various vessel types—including specialized ships with different deck heights and freeboard conditions. This new ramp will significantly expand the port’s Ro-Ro capacity.
The ramp system will be installed at Orkan Quay in the Port of Esbjerg and is scheduled to be commissioned by March 31, 2026.
At Depenbrock Scandinavia, we are extremely pleased with the contract and cannot deny a certain pride in having been selected by the Port of Esbjerg and their consultant, SWECO, to deliver the new hydraulic Ro-Ro ramp.
This delivery will further strengthen our position as one of the leading suppliers of ramps and shore-to-ship structures in the Scandinavian market.
